Golden Hinde

Sue and Sarah from Golden Hinde gave us a wonderful introduction into the history and practicalities of gold work when they conducted a lecture and workshop in April.  This is a picture of Sue with some of the 'Manx' kits they designed and put together especially for us.

Work in progress ... Hopefully they will be completed in time for our exhibition in February!

Guess who?

These are some if the pieces that were available to us:

Following a great deal of discussion about how this beautiful work was executed and the exact stitch that was used and lots of experimental work  we all came up with very different design ideas.  It was a great opportunity to see this collection at close quarters.
